Well, these were just like a month to a few weeks ago from my Painting I class, buttt:

About the canvas, it's 38in. x 46in., assembled it myself, the teacher sold the set of four stretcher bars for only $5.00, isn't that great?  I think they were just extras he had, and they were made out of pine wood.  Though, I had to buy the duck cotton, gesso, wood glue, staple gun, and staples.  And so I put three coats of gesso on.  Then...I sanded my canvases to make them smooth and so the paint would stay in position better.  We use half turpenoid/paint thinner (Not turpentine since it's more harsh.) and half of any oil medium.  For the first marks, I mixed phthalo blue (Phthalo colors are just so...contagious...and when I mention that, I mean very hard to clean/get off and sometimes I find phthalo green on some of my hands so unexpectedly.) with ultramarine blue, and paynes gray to make a navy blue color.  Then I poured the turpenoid and walnut oil in and mixed it.  I went outside with the canvas, I cut part of a cotton t-shirt, dipped it in the mixture in the palette, then slapped navy blue on the canvas, and yeah...there it is.  I LOVED IT, even though I thought it kinda looked "edgy."  I said this to my teacher, but he denied it and said that it looked like an abstract painting from the 1950s, he thought I hit a home run with it.  But then the next marks and so on...weren't as good...  I couldn't leave the painting just like that...even though I thought that it would have been way, way better- we just had to do more on it.

This is the final result of the previous painting shown, along with a painting I painted on again from the past I really struggled with, so it became a diptych painting.  I also experimented with knife painting on it.  I guess it's okay...I mean, I guess I kind of like it, but really, it's just too much clutter.  Though, I tried to rest the viewers' eyes with the knife painting blotches- because there was so much detail, so I thought there needed to be some sort of thing where people can just be like, "What a fucking break from all of the small details."  Some of the layers overlap, and that specific detail came from my teacher.  I had a critique from an artist that my professor suggested, and she said it really looked sexy and that there's not too many people who can pull off these kind of paintings.  I mean, I don't truly know what she means by that- I guess I haven't seen too many people go for the certain paintings she's describing.

Then the next painting- the final painting.  It's 40in. x 30in..  We had to base this on three things: a painting from four galleries my teacher chose, an object, and a picture.  The background color and shapes were based on the painting I chose, the object was based on the top of a pen, and the colors of the shapes were based on a picture of a wedding reception- some violet lights and a chandelier.  I liked doing this painting. From the same critique from the last painting, she thought that it was a weird painting and both her and my teacher agreed that some of it can be compared to Diebenkorn, an iconic painter.  This is pretty much my favorite out of all the stuff I've done.

I'm probably going to do more in the near future.  But more recently I've just been lazy.

anyway how abt you guys

I've been working on a fan made Justice poster but only have this so far:

Nothing is final but it was a pain in the ass to make in Illustrator with no tablet.

Yeah, I only did the outline to see it better, but I wanna make it look norse and eventually make it look like stone blocks with cracks and stuff.
