a pretty nifty game that a friend of mine is developing using 3d printers
here are some shots

the hexes are placed semi-randomly, and which is nice since you get a new experience each game with some control.
the combat is dice based, and certain units can use more or less dice in different situations, like ranged or close assult. kinda
it's a really cool little game, though. we just had our first tournament which was fun. i got 2nd.

buy a set from my friend before they blow up and you can say that you got into pocket tactics before they were mass produced
also they are all free to download and print from my bud's thingverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/dutchmogul/designs

the rules are here if you're interested

the game really holds up gameplay wise through strategy, and while the dice based combat has inherit randomness, it can be kind of cool when you take down a stronger unit with a weaker one doing something really risky.
i think there are 15 different factions right now (i have the yellow ones in the first pic) and each one has a really different playstyle due to unit abilities and stuff
it's $25/set though and you need two sets to play, so it's kind of hard to get people interested if they've never played it before :(

Commander Fuckass

Count me interested.

Also has he done anything else with pocket dungeons.

I think that the set on his thingverse is all that he's done (click download to get the rules and stuff along with the 3d printing stuff) but he'll probably come out with more soon. The guy making them is super proactive.

My friend and i had the idea of a Pocket Tactics faction that consisted of scientists wearing has-mat suits where their sole purpose is to set off a nuke, that kills a ton of shit and makes all the tiles have radiation (non-scientists have to roll before moving, and on a 1 they die of radiation poisoning) and we told him about our idea and he's going to design all the models and print/paint them within the next few days

so cool
