we get internet through a local provider because we're so awesome and support the local economy right??? well we're paying $50 a month for downlaod speeds of 2-3 megs and uploads at like 128k and an absolutely horrible ping
this has been somewhat okay for a while because it was only split between maddy and i. our roommates pc was broken, so she couldn't hog it.
but now we have an additional roommate, plus roommate number 1 has a working computer(thanks to me, damnit) so now
this is shared amongst me and 3 others in this house. i wanna cry when i can't even load the front page of craigslist ;-;

we're taking efforts to switch providers, but i just wanna waahhh to boyah.

my apartment building is the only one in a huge paradise of high speed connections provided by Time Warner that is stuck with AT&T for some ancient reason

I get a whopping 1.5Mbps download rate due to my distance from the nearest DSL Phone Hookup thing but at least it's only $20/mo

I hadn't tested in awhile. Just scored 38 down, 9 up, 8ms ping. We pay $65 a month.
