It actually was a ds game but nintendo held off on it it to put out b&w2 in the other style so they can milk this stuff a little more
nah I doubt they'd go with a new engine if it was still on the ds
graphics are still p. disappointing though
It's a DS, how amazing do you expect the graphics to be? confuseddood;
It's a 3DS game, I expect the graphics to look like 3DS graphics and not DS graphics goonish
The 3DS isn't exactly known for amazing graphics, is it? goowan

still, it's vastly more capable than xy might seem to imply akudood;
I agree with that but I don't think anyone should really complain about it because none of the pokemon games really have amazing graphics.

what the fuck kind of logic is this

silvertone

graphics is a very important element of gaming. please don't diminish its importance

The Gamecube games look vastly superior in overworld graphics quality
and I think I've heard 3DS is supposed to be comparable in power to GCN

I only saw a screenshot but it looks too barren. It showed one of the of the dirt or rocky paths I guess, and it was too big and wide for having such a small tile being used over and over again.

But, it could look better when it's shrunk down on the screen.
Did you not watch the trailer? Also should a desert area look barren?

No, that's why I said that I only saw the one screenshot. And I also said that the repeated tile sections looked horrible, and it's because of it's small size and no variation.

Games like Resident Evil Revelations and Super Mario 3D Land show the 3DS is capable of great graphics.

That being said, standard 3DS game cards can carry up to 2 GB. Extended card sizes, such as Revelations used (4 GB) are available to developers. The 3DS game card can go up to 8 GB.

I understand with all the programming and Pokemon and whatnot, memory may be limited. But I don't understand why they wouldn't use a little more memory. Developers don't charge any extra amount for their games to be larger (at least in the 3DS library) so I don't get why GAMEFREAK would do this.

Today, Nintendo released one of the most boring videos ever to show a tiny bit more of the game; it just shows some battle animations for the newly-revealed Sylveon (Eevee evolution whose type they're still trying to keep secret)

YPrrrr

Sylveon confirmed for worst eevee-lution ever.

Doesn't really look like Eevee either, looks more like  skitty and milotic had a strange lovechild

bluaki

if nothing else, at least that video does show that battlefields are animated with features like fluttering leaves and grass being blown by wind

without even background music, the incomplete and in-development status really shows
