You lived 20 miles away from your high school?! That's really far. lol

Also, on my Blazer that I had from '09-'12 I had an auto start installed which made everything awesome.

Also, "it is what it sounds like"? doodhuh;

it is called a block heater

it is literally a heater for the engine block

so the name is self-explanatory. that's what i meant by that.
how are we supposed to know that without any context

huh

i didn't say anyone was supposed to know that. i gladly explained what it was for people who don't know after hiro made it clear that it was necessary to do so.

I disagree because "block" could mean a number of things, and "engine block" is pretty far down the list for me since I don't know shit about cars.

Stop making me feel dumb with your words, kaz.

oh the engine block is just the thing that houses the cylinders of an engine

its casing, if you will

- scrape off ice to drive to high school
- turn on heat all the way
- fan blows cold air all the way 20 miles to hig hschool

that scene in Fargo where Jerry walks out into the giant, empty parking lot and tries to scrape off the massive layer of ice on his windshield always gets me because that's exactly how it is

but yeah that's why i let my car run for a few minutes during winter, so that the heater is actually doing its job once i'm in the car

parents were kind enough to pay for a rigorous Catholic education at a respected preparatory school inside the city, then divorced and moved to the outskirts of the suburbs 20-30 miles away. i learned exactly how many tims i could drive back and forth from school with the empty gas light on because they never gave me money for it : (
it was like 4.5 times
