Not with that graphics card you're not. Or lack there of. I'd say that your processors aren't strong enough and you don't have the graphics card to back it up. The Intel HD Graphics line is good for flash games and low-end games (think World of Goo or Super Meat Boy). You'll be able to play Portal 2, but you probably won't be able to stream while playing it, and it'll be on some of the lowest settings.

Yes, a 13.3" uses an onboard graphics card, but if you get the Macbook Pro that matches the HP's screen size it has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512MB of GDDR5 memory which makes it much more powerful, ontop of having the Intel HD 4000 onboard card.

I understand that, I'm just saying that you won't really be able to do a whole lot at once, and your games won't look that good, honestly.

At least you can play Super Meat Boy at fullscreen and on High Detail! hocuspocus;

i think i put in the OP that i wasn't expecting stellar graphics because i don't play action games on my laptop
or at all for that matter
Portal 2 is somewhat graphicly intensive. A friend of mine has a laptop with Intel HD 3000 and it can hardly run it, and it seems to heat up a lot.

Right, I understand that but the 4000 isn't much better than the 3000 in terms of games.

If I'm reading that correctly, the test laptop was using a grpahics card AND had 16gb of ram. befuddlement

But even still, you will only be getting above 30fps for most games on the lowest graphics and resolution settings. I don't see why you wouldn't want to spend a little extra money to get a graphics card in there too. It really makes everything look and run much better.
