are English actors so good at American accents?

I love [you]

don't let's

I've always wondered how hard that would be, especially if you're on a tv show.

because foreigners use forced accents when speaking american to make themselves seem different from us

Daddy

The reason for this is because, from childhood, the British have always had accent envy of the standard American accent. This can be traced back to getting their asses kicked in the revolutionary war.

They secretly practice this accent in the shower where they do not think their fellow brits can hear them.  They are not aware that other brits also do this as it is publicly shunned.

there was an english girl at the camp i worked at this summer and she had a pretty strong accent. she was pretty good at switching to american and it was pretty solid. apparently there's a few easy changes that make a pretty dramatic effect
