Thats what I played on the way home from school, and once I start my car up I'll hear it again. I like listening to Porcupine Tree but I have to play that one last before listening to something else because it's so happy and their other work is so sad.

Pictures Of Home by Deep Purple. I love the twin guitars, one of the reasons why I like Opeth (Opeth probably got the idea from Deep Purple.)

Woops, I don't mean Halo, I mean Lazarus.

Lazarus is so fucking awesome, the keyboard is just so fucking beautiful.

The twin guitars concept has been used by so many bands that it's pretty much impossible to trace the origins. Judas Priest and Boston are two of the more famous examples of harmonizing two guitars in such a way.

True.

All I know is he loves Deep Purple and they play the twin guitars a lot so I'd like to think thats where it came from.

Stop Swimming is one of my favorite song that isn't that popular.

Trains is probably my favorite though.

It's certainly a possibility. And who doesn't love Deep Purple except for people with no appreciation for good old rock n' roll? They're one of my favorite bands, yet I only own one of their albums (Machine Head).

"Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming" by Deep Purple

By far my favorite post-Blackmore song. It proves that the band still had amazing potential even after their prized guitarist left them.
