i've always thought they were unofficial remixes/mixtapes/etc.

lol theyre just groups of "the scene" who try to be the first to leak an album(or movie or whatever) in a consistent format.


sometimes they are rare mixtapes but that isn't the definition of scene.

I dislike the releases because they're generally V2 or 192kbps, The naming conventions are fucking obnoxious(movies are even worse and they split shit into two files for no fucking reason), and it just screams unnecessary egotism for a release that could be much better if they have the damn source material.

sometimes those scene leaks contain unofficial tracks that have slight (sometimes major <3) differences than their official ones
the goldfrapp ones are a billion times better than the shit mute released
