Why are the servers so slow?

the server itself is fine, it just seems to lag when the topics and messages tables are called. since those are the two largest and most frequently accessed tables, I'm thinking they're just not using the most efficient combination of mysql engines, but I haven't really looked deeply into it :<

Ah I didn't see this thread, I just created the same thread.  But yes it is loading threads extremely slow, it's almost unbearable.
