Do you consider David Bowie mid-70s?
or the Clash
or Marvin Gaye
the Ramones
Blondie
Led Zeppelin
Kansas
Journey
Boston
Queen
Stevie Wonder
ACDC
The Who
Black Sabbath
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Earth Wind and Fire?

i think Bowie's best album is "Heroes" which is 77 so sure...Low is also from that year

Clash is consistently good

Gaye is eh

Ramones good but not great

Blondie is lame

i used to be a huge Ledhead, but not so much anymore. either way, they had already gone majorly downhill by the mid 70s. all their best material was recorded in the early 70s and late 60s.

Kansas sucks dude wtf. two decent "hits," everything else is either bad or just okay. or awful, sometimes.

Journey is boring. besides, they didn't really record stuff that anyone knows until like 78 or so.

Boston is better than Journey but outside a few great hits they're pretty boring too

Queen is honestly one of the most overrated bands in the world imo. they are good and on a few occasions great but idk whatever. but at least their best stuff was indeed mid 70s.

idk enough about Stevie Wonder

AC/DC is boring mostly.

okay The Who is honestly one of the greatest rock bands in existence and it is shameful to include these other bands with them. nobody will agree with me on this as i am hte only huge Who fan here but idgaf. Quadrophenia is an amazing concept album from 73, which is i guess mid 70s so yeah. other than that though they were not super active in like 74-77 except for one meh album (Who By Numbers). they did not really come back until late 70s with Who Are You.

Black Sabbath is good but i honestly appreciate them more for being the inspiration for other bands, esp. doom/stoner metal bands like Sleep. some of their best stuff was from the mid 70s though, like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage. but idk, they are not one of my preferred bands from the era. they're good though.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is boring

These bands are representative of what I don't like about the 70s in music

pretty much same here lol

as well as the late 70s creating the emergence of hair metal, one of the worst movements in rock history...and in general, just a lot of "classic rock" that was cool in the 60s totally lost its steam in the mid 70s and became boring

you need to listen to more soul and funk. Marvin Gaye is pretty damn good. I don't really care for Wonder.

also I think the best who songs were those two singles in the eighties. I listened to Who's Next and it seemed like generic arena rock. (though i really enjoyed baba o'reilly and i will play it at full volume.)

Also Also Fela Kuti was pretty damn active in the 70's.

Parliament-Funkadelic were also pretty active. (like holy fucking shit)

i do need to, yes

i don't really know what to tell you about The Who. i didn't care about them much at first, and my first album was Who's Next. i didn't really start loving them until i tried their concept albums, mostly Quadrophenia (Tommy is still great too, just not as great imo). and then a certain album called Live at Leeds cemented that love forever - it's probably the best live album of any "classic rock" band ever.

idk, it took me a while and a lot of listening to really get into them but i found it very rewarding, not going to try to convince anyone though

I'll take the 70s, you can take anything from the 80s and I will hardly miss a thing

all those bands are trash.

i think i should have clarified and said "rock" music

like right after led zep got big and that "hard rock" thing became a "thing" a lot of really bad bands came around (ACDC being the defining moment of that "thing")

i wans't thinking of any of those bands when U posted that

and what did david bowie release in the mid seventies that was good  ?  ?

it was like alladin sane then he dipped into some ok pop shit and then made good music and then made more boring music.

i think you really need to listen to the Berlin trilogy a bit more

they're essentially his mid 70s albums and they're fantastic, especially Heroes and Low
