this is hard question to answer, so Let me Try to do me best and answer neither.  I want to live very old. for like a couple hundred years like a modern methuselah, but i also want to die right now. but if i knew i was going to die young i would just get anxious because i live in the future (example: i think i am in the end of august instead of the beginning of summer) and i will not be able to do anything and i would not enjoy this. while if i knew i was going to live old i would do nothing because i believe i have forever to do anything. also the older you get the more powerful nostalgia becomes, which is the most vile essence that has been put forth by the human brain. This is because the past is nothing but dirt and a failure, if the past was a success then there would be no point in being nostalgic because you would Enjoy Now.  so i want to live old but be  young forever, but not look young or be mentally young. i want my brain to grow old and i want my body to appear old, but i want the essence of basic strength and lack of True Nostalgia running through my veins.

See, this is something that worries me about growing older and it's something that I'm already experiencing to a degree I think.
For a lot of people, nostalgia is melancholy colored, but it's really powerful when channeling it into something creative, like writing or painting or stuff.
But, the stuff that I have banked away back there in my psyche, the stuff that I can call true nostalgia, is kind of sharp and jagged around the fuzzy edges. It's like watching people walk by through a pane of glass when you're stuck behind three feet of concrete and a steel door. You want to walk around out there with them, but all you get is this tiny square of foggy glass to kind of peek at.

If I get too consumed with thinking about things, I get this stupidly impractical feeling of helplessness, that I'll never experience "so and so" again the same way I experienced it then.

But, don't you think, practically, that the whole future mindset thing can get a little dangerous? Kind of like wishing away too many days, and then you realize too many are gone and you spent all that time trying to rationalize them away?

Yes, I do. it is not something i do consciously. i believe it is most important to "be here now."

it might be somewhat of a reversed nostalgia, but that is ONLY if you spend 100% of your time in the future instead of making this Future happen now. So it is possibly more dangerous for things will never happen, but at the same time it is potentially less dangerous and beneficial. it is like a gamble i guess

i think people should read the Yukio Mishima books so "Your radical ideas about society, individualism, and religion have already occurred to others" can be realized. plus his books are good. also people should read salvador dali's autobiography. beacuse it rules.
