Pretty awesome shit just came out. For those of you unaware, Project M is an attempt to put Melee's physics into Brawl.  Basically what anybody would have wanted for Melee 2. The physics are extremely on par with Melee, and it feels like I'm playing a sexier Melee. All you need is Brawl and an SD card.

They've also added in a handful of Brawl characters and rebalanced some of the lower tier Melee characters to make them more viable (Ness has is Dair from SSB64(!!!)) Shit ton of stages as well. The best ones from Melee, Brawl, and even Hyrule Castle(!!!) and Saffron City from SSB64. I would highly recommend checking it out if you like Melee at all.

Really easy to install. Download the .exe installer from their downloads page and depending on your Wii's status (hacked, unhacked, size of SD card) you select a different install options. That's right, you don't need a hacked Wii in order to enjoy Project M.

Character Roster:

Here's the official website: http://projectm.dantarion.com/index.php

I've had a great time with it so far, but I haven't really tested it with my friends yet. I'm excited to take it to Melee club tomorrow and see how everyone likes it.

Can't wait for Dr. Mario to be added.

YPrrrr

What's the difference between Ness' down air? It's pretty strong in Brawl, I forget how it was in Melee

The Hand That Fisted Everyone

i don't like that character roster

I'm not familiar with his moveset in Brawl, but it changes from his Melee attack. It comes out way faster now, making it a lot more useful in a lot more situations.

It is a demo still. They want to add more characters, although they are having trouble getting Melee characters that didn't exist in Brawl in.

>taking characters out

What do you mean? Like I said it is a demo. They can't just convert every single character immediately. They fact that they're rebalancing lower tiers is fucking awesome and takes a lot of work.

Snowy

I thought the demo was the full roster.

?????

I couldn't help but notice that there's stock match set up with four four lives.

I usually play with three lives. Four is such a weird number.

Standard for mbr ruleset. They really catered it to the competitive scene, which is cool. Not saying that 3 stock isn't viable or anything though

someone should install this and play online with me
it's so fun :(

seriously not just being a meleefag or anything but this demo basically holds up as a stand-alone smash bros game in the sense that it has new mechanics, new characters, new stages, and rebalanced older characters

COME ON GUYS IT'S SO GOOD

Snowy

One of my friends from college came home and we played this last night.

I really didn't like it; the characters seemed to drop too quickly.

BUT THE NEW MOVES OH GOD THE NEW MOVES ARE GREAT

That's Melee for yah. I can see that being an annoyance if you're used to Brawl. (again not to be a meleefag, but) Give it some time and I bet the fast falling will grow on you. Makes comboing much more possible than when everybody is floaty, which is awesome.

I've played Melee more than Brawl; the characters don't drop that fast.
