How much are you looking to spend?

The dual 1000/2000 series are pretty solid and are usually cheaper.
Here's 'un for a little over $100.

If you have a thrift store around you, nine times out of ten you'll be able to find a super cheap table. I might start there first.

any old pos will do, just put a new needle cartridge in it

Stantons and Numarks are cheap and reliable for DJing, but if you just want to listen to records than yea check a thrift store. Getting a new needle and cartridge will cost bout $50-100 but is worth it for a good sound. Shure makes good needles and also ortofon.

You will need a receiver or a mixer to plug the RCA inputs into.
Craigslist is actually a really good resource for tables.

No offense to her but she kinda doesn't know crap about shit

silvertone

do you still need one? i trashpicked one from work today and it is a stereo system with a record player on top.  ain't got no speakers. i dont know if it works but if you are interested i will Test It.

strongbad

i'm very interested!
i think my parents might be getting me one for my b-day but i'm definitely interested nonetheless

silvertone

it works, you are going to need some own speakers

it is a radio, cd, tape and "phono" record palyer. you can also hook it up to your television for 90s era surround sound.

snoorkel

it looks nice

I mean any vinyl player with this in it must be nice, right?

yeah no kidding
apparently this is standard in record players (according to my room mate), but i am fascinated how it automatically moves the needle onto the record, and then off again when it is finished

man i really want to get into being an audiophile even more.
this player + sennheiser hd595 + kid a is so fucking cool
just need a better amp now

Real audiophiles are actual fucks though.

to be an audiophile: buy original pressing, buy gold cables, buy expensive  unneeded amplifiers, and speakers beyond your needs and Never, my God, touch the eq.
