The country's been panicking the past five years because unemployment rates have been so high. Don't just immediately quit everything and expect a job to fall in your lap, because even if you do find a job, they probably won't ask you to start immediately.

Agreed. Line up a few part time prospects before cutting ties if it's your intent on continuing school in  he future.
Maybe just strategically drop a few classes and kill some of the workload right now?

I'm having a hell of a blast with my action research initiative right now, despite the crippling workload and the fact that this is probably something I'm never going to want to do in the future. Second client proposal is this week  Q('_' Q)     huhdoodame;

don't just immediately assume getting a college degree is worth anything and expect a job to fall in your lap, either, because even if you do find a job it will pretty much be exactly the same shit you'd be doing if you didn't have a college degree

where the oasis is first found in your soul, and then seeded to the world. :'(
i don't know, sometimes i feel like i am following the northern star, high and hazy, and other times i feel i am shifted and moved by these hands unseen, greeting, shoving pushing me around, and i feel lost at sea but someone not without a will and a place to call my own. can't take life away from me.

yeah i mean what I'm saying is if you don't have a marketable skill then don't expect college to get you a job, a 'marketable skill' is ideally something you invent not something anyone else can learn from a class or a book (because then you are not living as a person you are living as a slave)

well, i would say living with a marketable mentality is sort of like a slave anyway. i would say 'useful', or 'good' is a better word, because not everything that is marketable is useful or positive and not everything useful and positive is marketable, whether initially or perpetually. i find that if you have merit and your idea and effort and belief has merit, it will mean something and show, it will endure and have an effect. but marketability ruins all of this and then gives rise to profits and economy and then here we are, stuck in the rate race.

i'm currently working on my own projects that i plan on making money from, and i'm doing a job for a friend that will give me a decent amount of money

my plan from the start has been to make money on my own and get an actual job if that doesn't work out. programmers have it easier. people majoring in architectural studies need to put a lot more effort into finding a place to work.

I met with the head of second year studies in the college of architecture and my studio professor for like 45 minutes today, and then I dropped studio.

That's your ticket, stamped and ready to roll.
Best of luck, though!
