I would read post office first, it's kind of whimsically a good intro to him. then Factotum which doesn't appear to be in print currently but is his best. his poetry is lame and totally forgettable, in my opinion. ham on rye and Women are also decent but just more of the same. he's kind of a "one trick horse," but the books are short at least

after bukowski, read Henry Miller for the next level of drunken piss off sex rage!!
