Have you ever seen those little squiggly things that are floating inside of your eyeballs? When you focus on something and start to drift into your own lenses there are these sudden flicks and liquid moving things, almost like a living cell, only magnified and projected into your vision. It makes me wonder what it actually is that I am seeing, swimming through a filter of light and the formed image. Sometimes the very substance of reality is called into question, because well, when my field of view looks like water right before it boils, I entertain all kinds of thoughts and possibilities.

Kalahari Inkantation

i'm sure many of us have, they're called floaters

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floater

they're kind of neat, though despite the fact that they're apparently common i can't help but wonder if something's wrong with my eyes whenever i notice them

snoorkel

Yes, flokon of metal, how to shake around a little in the air is reflected?

Andria

I had one of those that looked like ebola and was moving in quarter inch jumps in a downwords diagonal motion. It was fun to watch.

You can't just throw that at me when I was deep in mystery. This phenomena has kept me happy on more than one occasion.

I also don't recognize that name, I was never consulted.

Cosmic Ada

Whenever I'm dizzy or have a bad headache, my eyes "fog" up. It's a weird phenomenon.

Andria

Hey socks, have you ever had that weird visual thing where you see what looks like really bright light reflecting off of flakes of metal? That one is even better at being mysterious

If I stare at things and play around with my thoughts I can see and induce some pretty interesting sights--from material objects 'breathing', to others seemingly compressing or expanding in a sudden instant-- but this one I am not sure of. What's the duration, stimulation, etc... and are the eyes open, or not?

as hippo said it's actually a type of migraine. Eyes are open and it can last for seconds to minutes. It freaked me ouout the first time but now it's really intriguing. The only way to describe it is someone dropped tiny flecks of metal that all reflect light perfectly into your eyes

Sparkly lights without colors... Silver and black and white.  Slight geometric patterns that change VERY slowly, yet aren't completely defined.

sounds like a more enchanting and biological version of snow interference.

??????

mines reflect blue light
and it can be a mass pool of them (very faint--i'm guessing white blood cells swimming in your eyes?? you see them when you stare at the sky or at something insanely white [snow, white walls, jmv's skin)

or a blue, heavy wet sprite (i dunno--i think from fatigue but it happens once every 3 months)
