Both of you are right.

Sometimes nice conversations happen in a chat thread.

Other times bullshit escapes into a good thread (haha we're all going to pretend to be gay lovers!!!) and it ruins everything.

I just don't even understand the point of the chat thread-- Boyah is all about chatting. If you want to talk about something, make a fucking thread, and guess what, more people are likely to talk about it because they will actually see that topic.

i agree with mushedapples

that's basically what i started doing. all of the threads i've made recently are just things that i would normally post in the chat thread. but things get overlooked in the chat thread because it's so overridden with blatant shit.
but if you just make a thread out of something that you would have otherwise just put in the chat thread it is exposed to much more. more people see it. it doesn't drown away in the hundreds of pages in the chat thread

I didn't figure it was an insult, but  I probably wouldn't ever post anything like that outside of the chat thread, unless it was something completely amazing and I actually had something worthwhile to post about it.
