Sony's TGS show was today

Gravity Rush is getting a PS4 remake in February and a PS4-exclusive sequel later in 2016
New Danganronpa announced, but with no trailer or any other sort of information besides that, unlike all the series's previous Vita-exclusive games, it's going to both Vita and PS4
No Persona info yet, that's in a different conference in a couple days, but that's yet another franchise Vita is kinda losing to PS4

Basically, RIP Vita. PS4 is swallowing everything that has ever been of worth from its library.

In Japan, PS4 is getting a price drop to ~$300USD. Vita gets none.

Also there's a new Kingdom Hearts remake bundle. And Sony supposedly is still doing VR stuff.

lmao@vita

if only the nathan drake collection had included golden abyss, that would have dropped any reasons to own a vita down to 0

hoping that price cut comes stateside (((actually for currency parity reasons it should drop to $300 awdood;)))

Quote"That's a tough question," he replied when asked about a PlayStation Vita 2. "People have mobile phones and it's so easy to play games on smartphones," Yoshida said. "And many games on smartphones are free, or free to start.

"I myself am a huge fan of PlayStation Vita and we worked really hard on designing every aspect. Touch-based games are fun - there are many games with really good design. But having sticks and buttons make things totally different.

"So I hope, like many of you, that this culture of playing portable games continues but the climate is not healthy for now because of the huge dominance of mobile gaming."

I interpret this as "I hate that the buttonless smartphone games are killing our market, but because of them, we'll stop making handhelds and just stick to PS4"

Although Vita's been on life support for years, it does (as PSP did) fill a niche that Japanese developers/players in particular appreciate. Once it's fully dead, they'll all have to either deal with non-portable consoles, smartphones with their restrictive input options and pricing ecosystem, or Nintendo handhelds with their extra hassle of two screens and weaker hardware (unless 3DS successor fixes those)

TGS seemed to indicate that just PS4 is swallowing Vita's library, but that seems a bit odd to me, considering how much Japanese people like their handheld gaming.

which is funny:  microsoft throws money at ea to bundle fifa with the xbone even in europe and a 1tb hdd, but people ignore the console

meanwhile in the us, gamestop is currently throwing in a free copy of fifa 16 with ps4s to help flush its stock of the game whilst selling the console
