She is noticeably sweaty (it's the beginning of July). The old lady grins at us and unfurls her coat. We see dvd's of movies still in theaters. She starts shouting "DEHVEHDEE YOU BUY DEHVEHDEE WE GOT UP DEVEHDEE"

Apartments here vary SO MUCH based on neighborhoods it's crazy. For example, we pay $975 for a three bedroom. 2 miles south of here you could find one for $700ish. Two miles north and you're looking at $2500 minimum. I have a friend in a neighborhood that is actually worse than mine but is trendy, renting a strikingly similar apartment to mine for $1800.
