You just needed to talk to her one last time.

Yes, I understood that part, but what do you really mean by that. What are you trying to say.

I mean think about it. That just doesn't make any sense.

ugh

why

I mean being friends is okay after all is said and done, but trying to go from liking someone in a relationship manner to friends before you are truly over them is one of the most torturous things you can ever experience.

Who said anything about that? I mean, is it even possible to be friends with a woman without some level of sexual tension? Fuck no.

Yes it is... It's completely possible.

I agree that it is difficult to be friends if you have feelings for her or have had some sort of romantic twist in your relationship. But the more you entertsin the possibilty the harder it is to let go, don't do that to yourself man. I mean, you got back with that one girl lile a dozen times, that's just unheard of. You'll eventually forget about these girls and move on, and that is not a bad thing. But you have to want that, otherwise you'll always be in that torturous state that Echo mentioned. It is your heart, not mine, and although I do not know the details, the sittuation is universal and as old as time. Learn from the past and push forward.

Noooooooo

I hate to say it, but you just set yourself back.  You need to get over her, and that means not calling.

I suggest you delete her phone number and all records with her phone number in it.  You don't need it anymore.  Trust me.  You don't.

Is getting over her really what I want?

Well she did dump you and make you miserable for whatever reason, and unless things have changed it is unlikely that you will end up getting back together with her. So yes, I would say getting over seeing her as a love interest is in your best interest.

In the end, whatever you do is your choice and your choice alone but you really should give it some thought

No one can answer this question for you.

She also made me really happy for a really long time.

The relationship has ended, and it ended a long time ago.  Holding on to something that cannot be restored isn't the best thing to do.  Even if you want it to be restored, you need to let it go.  It will only cause you pain to continue thinking about it UNLESS you realize that it's completely over.

There is the possibility that you could get back together.  But the chances of this happening successfully are very slim.  She has caused you a lot of pain, and you aren't processing that pain well.  Until you get over this pain, and until you forget about it completely, you will not be able to successfully love her again in the same way.  I fear that the possible relationship dynamic would be dreadful and lead to another (worse) breakup.

So do yourself a favor, and get over her even if it's not something you want to do right now.

It's a lot like walking on the beach, see?
So you're walking barefoot, right, and you step on a sharp bottlecap. That shit hurts. You cut open the heel of your foot pretty bad.

You keep walking and your foot starts to heal, but you kind of liked that part of the beach, so you walk back and cut your foot open again on that same goddamned bottlecap.

You walk back again and meet some people you know and you're just dying to go back to that part of the beach again but they all warn you against it and you're like "nah" and walk away and cut your foot again and again and again.

Leave the fucking beach.
