i think like this somewhat, too. when i look back on my relationship i seriously don't understand the mindset i was in. i was such a kid. and now that i'm having to face growing up (slowly, mind you - i'm still such a kid in several ways), it's harder and harder to see myself putting that much effort into someone else again.

For me it is less not being able to put that much effort into someone else than it is being hard to see myself putting up with the less desirable elements of a relationship without just cutting my loss then and there.

My first relationship is clearly the cause of that with me being very forgiving and all that

I will end up doing it all again I just need to find someone who isn't as much of a douche
