Sure, we remember battle themes, level themes, stuff like that really well...but what about opening themes? Post some of your favorites. Title screen themes count too obviously, since lengthy openings weren't exactly the norm until the PS1 era.

Chrono Cross probably has my favorite opening theme ever. Underrated game, first of all, but also the music is just amazing.

Some other amazing opening/title songs:

Aaaand although it's not TECHNICALLY the opening, because you have to start a new game first to see it, this of course deserves special mention, seeing as it's another one of Nobuo's best pieces, and it does play during the opening credits so it's like a SECOND opening to the game:

I know I'm forgetting plenty. I'll have to add to the ones in the spoilers later...but Chrono Cross...oh, no.1, easily.

why? SNES original has slightly less muffled sound, simply from being on a larger medium. plus they changed the text scrolling noise to make it boring.

myface;

but yeah it is a great little opening...did you notice that it has a cameo in Wind Waker?

i prefer the timing of the sword's entrance in the gba version :'(

I remember that, although I only noticed it the second time I played Wind Waker because I'd only played ALttP/FS after playing WW. goowan
