Cats will even play ball with you if you're nice to them. They cuddle better than a dog does and dogs do what they do (including trying to fetch sticks you pretended to throw) because they're dumber than cats. A cat is certainly smart enough to tell you don't like cats. They see you coming a mile away.

also dogs fetch because they like to run and it's instinctive for them to retrieve things, so it's fun, I think? a cat might see you from a mile away, but a dog can read your emotions better than you can and will give you exactly what you need, not tell you what it wants
