intelligent / *nice* / real women usually aren't like that, unless they are stuck in some abusive cycle from parents or previous boyfriend... In general I don't think anyone will gain anything meaningful from doing those average things everyone says attract the opposite sex

I don't think you need to be an asshole, though. I've recently realized that you just need to be confident and comfortable enough to tease the girl. Girls like to be teased, just as much as guys like to be teased. Once you realize that, you're golden.
