how do you know if you're insane

i recently started keeping a journal and i was reading over it today and some of my entries are kind of disturbing so i guess my question is how do you know if you're actually insane or just neurotic?

if you unfortunately turn out to be introspective combined with a self-absorbed tendency to isolate yourself from others, then seeing yourself as 'insane' greatly increases

do mushrooms or hard drugs if that's not your thing, you'll either come out enlightened as to the status of your being or else dumbed down enough to not be bothered by it anymore
