this place is too close-knit and has a lot of inside jokes.  some are such smartasses, and even "worse" ones use bafflegab in their posts.  some users aren't given a shit, maybe because of others' prejudice, the regulars mainly talking to people they like, different tastes, maybe a social ladder is included, or maybe that user just doesn't want to socialize.

why do i come here still

As long as you aren't a jerk and actively participate you can get in on the inside jokes, or at least most of them. Sure there are tiny groups that seem to associate more but in the end I think we all pretty much post and reply to everyone. Climbing the ladder is as simple as posting really
