I just picked up a nice antique iMac (Bondi Blue RevB, which means souped up video processing for that era) for a nice price and I'm finding that it also parts out nicely too. Gonna replace the memory battery in it and do a local network with my antique Win 98 machines just to check out that famous iMac cross-platform capability.

Do those still use AppleTalk, or is that a relic of OS 9 and earlier? girl;

I'm not sure, actually. This is the first iMac I've ever had--my first Apple was a II. I'm still trying to start with a clean drive on Bondi. Just discovered that the OS didn't like the drive partitioned and I'm gonna have to start reinstallment all over again. :(
Hmph.

use OS 9, it will be more fun and nostalgic than early OS X and possibly faster, definitely faster if you're trying to install recent OS X

Ya, that's what I was told by its previous owner. It came with OS 8 but I got both OS 9 and OS10 disks...and so OS 9 it will be. As soon as I remove the partition I made.
Hmph.

I forget what parts I put in my rig D:

Yeah.

Sometimes I forget the model number of my motherboard. But things like CPU model number, motherboard manufacturer + chipset, gpu # + PCB manufacturer, HDD capacities, rpm, and manufacturer, and ram capacities and speed should not be forgotten.
