GREEN MILK FROM THE PLANET ORANGE: a japanese psychedelic punk rock, either their songs are crazy loud psychedelic freak outs or really calm quiet songs that LURK around your speakers. 3 really talented musicians playing together always insync. I can't tell if it is free form or actually written songs(really outdated method, but if it is written songs it is great.)

Weird War: another psychedelic band, wow good!! funk bass girl,  guitarist is from an African band so he knows all these cool mystic guitar things and Cool Singer Ian Svenonius preforms in a talk-sing voice that HARKENS back to the beatniks and hippies, but avoiding the redundant counterculture topics (DRUGS and SEX)

Another cool Ian Svenonius Band: Chain and the Gang. Think like the punk equivalent of Satanic/Socialist stones. Is It Satire? Delivery on vocals with a more stripped down sound. 'lofi'? (not like wavves though, sounds like a 60s record but not a Tribute to the 60s.)

Mulatu Astatke and the Heliocentrics: a Good collaboration of a british jazz band and Ethiopian jazz Guru. The Meters-like R'NB with cool african jazz melodies. have yet to meet a person who hasn't liked this song.

Valley of the Giants: Cool band that plays Western-movie Influenced post rock. Normally I can just barely stand post rock, but this stuff is great. It has some members from godspeed or something, I don't really care they are great regardless of their credentials.

I think he might have missed his chance. But then, if he's really as much of a purist as he claims to be, I don't think that'll matter to him.

Regardless, they played some pretty big venues last tour, so it looks like there's still a great platform out there for him.

He wasn't a dick when I talked to him either. Real friendly and excited about the turnout and everything.

Yeah he seems to be only a dick to people who don't really 'understand' him. Like a lot of interviewers, all the people who went to his shows say he is a really Nice Guy.

Not that this is the most accurate way of counting the number of fans, but when I started listening to them (2008??) they had about 150,000+ less listeners on last.fm then they do now( which last i checked was 200,500 or something like that.) so popularity wise it seems to be the best time out of all his life.

Musically-wise he matured nicely, from cool pop songs to experimentation that often goes right. I do not get all the hatred for My Bloody Underground or Who Killed Sgt Peppers? Just people demanding the same music over and over again i guess i dunno Ain't Gonna Judge. I love the shit out of those albums and all those demos on youtube aaaaaa. He probably won't get the attention he deserves, but it will be better than anything anyone else is doing.

Yeah, it seems the biggest complaint right now is his deviation from the norm; getting away from those standards that made him so great.

It took a little adjusting for me too though. I wasn't really expecting it, but I really do like the new experimental stuff.
