What were you doing ten years and ten hours ago today?

I has just gotten into class and we were listening to the events on the radio.  I was in fourth grade.

sitting in school wondering why my classmates were leaving early and i had to stay

idk. all i remember is that my dad took me out of school early.

I was in a math class in the Library, So I had literally no clue what my main teacher was talking about when she gathered the class around and told us about what happened.

I later learned about what happened when I got home from school

I was also in fourthgrade, there was news on the radio as my mom was backing out of the garage to drive to school and then at the school I don't rly remember I think we just had a party day.

We have a department of defense building or something in my town but it was nowhere near my school and I have no idea why she was so scared

i honestly don't remember hearing the news, i just remember from other people's recountings

I remember waking up and the house being quiet and seeing my mom sitting on the floor staring at the tv. I didn't really get what was going on, I didn't think big buildings crashing down like that was as big of a deal as it is. Then I went to school and a lot of kids went home, but I didn't because my mom worked at the school. I think we just watched the news all day.

Oh and it was in 4th grade

Sitting in class... There was an announcement that some planes had been hijacked but not to worry because this sort of thing happened all the time and the planes were often re-routed to Cuba. I thought this was strange because I had never heard an announcement about this despite it happening "all the time" and only figured out why there was an announcement later on in the day.

But anyway, I wish we didn't have to go through this every year

I was in fourth grade art class, our principal made an announcement telling us that there was an 'event' in New York City and that we should be receiving a letter telling us to not watch TV and to call the counsellor if they had any problems explaining it to us.

lol. I think something similar to this happened at my school, the teachers were all huddled in the back of the room listening to a radio quietly and didn't mention anything, we just had a normal day.
