i have never really cared for:

country
electronic
folk
rap
hip-hop
jazz
funk
pop
rock
blues
metal
and basically anything else that isn't vidya goowan

Though I'm sure some of the video game music I enjoy fits into some of these genres.  That's a start, right? 5thgrade;
Funk I understand

but you don't know what pop is?

Pop music (a term that originally derives from an abbreviation of "popular") is usually understood to be commercially recorded music, often oriented towards a youth market, usually consisting of relatively short, simple songs utilizing technological innovations to produce new variations on existing themes.

i've ignored most funk and soul music, although i harbor no distaste for them although the "pure" kinds are pretty boring honestly

same goes for jazz, although fusion stuff is cooler as is more upbeat jazz

most hip-hop that isn't underground or some sort of fusion (like nujabes amazing jazzy hip-hop stuff) i've ignored

i've ignored most metal that isn't sludge/prog/thrash

i've ignored most electronica that isn't more house, dance-ish stuff like daft punk/justice or more chillout trance like boards of canada

i've ignored most country that isn't modern "alternative" country or old stuff

that's it i guess

also idk

The other reason I didn't want to make this thread was that I didn't know how to answer the question myself. I'm not sure ignore is the right word in my case, it would be more avoid.

um i guess

country
opera (yeah i know it's not a genre suk my dik)
pretty much anything pre-20th century
punk
folk
emo

I'm sure Echo will make me think of more. n_u

I can't say I really like trance. Or most varieties of EDM, actually, but I still like industrial and "old" electronic music.

i think that emo was actually a pretty decent musical movement back in the mid/late 90s but yeah other than that i've mostly ignored it too, for good reason. shit started sucking really bad when the term itself became popular and it started becoming a fashion statement as well.

of course, if music like this were to come out now, it wouldn't be called emo anymore simply because the genre isn't anything like it used to be

Yeah the stuff coming out of that movement is really good and quite possibly my favourite type of music

i'm limiting this to genres i'm actually interested in but never really delved into enough

black metal - theres a few bands more on the "cascadian" (post-rock/shoegaze influenced) end of bm that i've checked out and loved but i want more
dream pop - same story, a few bands i really like but i don't know the genre too well
pornogrind - it's fun
grindcore - because i like it a lot but never listen to any
hip hop/rap - idk never bothered but i'm sure there's good stuff out there
some electronic genres i wouldn't know enough about to name
i'm also gonna list shoegaze here because there's really only a couple of shoegaze bands i listen to and i lurve them all

there's a ton of music i couldn't even begin to care about

Dream pop is when a girl sings shoegaze.
