when you jump you go up

it's like nintendo is trolling you or something

They're going to start you off in a level.

except the smash bros. series has a jump button as well, which i actually use instead of up

yeah i always disable the up button in those games and use y/x instead

maybe this is why i don't like other fighters as much

Wasn't there some special match in Melee that removed the ability to use X/Y for jumping? I think it was something about single-button and only being able to use A.
