Am I the only one who hadn't heard ANYTHING about the situation at Fort Calhoun until about 30 mins ago?

I've been trying to piece things together from multiple articles and here's what I can gather:

--the Fort Calhoun plant was shut down out of precautions back in mid-April

--the Cooper plant is still operating at full capacity

--At some point (don't know when) the Obama administration imposed a media blackout over the entire incident.

--The start of the incident appears to be a large electrical fire at Fort Calhoun which resulted in the flooding of a spent fuel cooling facility. This was on June 6th.

--The news to break on the subject was on June 17th.

--Both facilities are currently under no-fly zones.

--Parts of Fort Calhoun are under as much as 2 feet of water already, and the water is ony about 2.5 feet short of flooding Cooper.

I'm not kiding. Check this link:

basically some people have no idea about what is actually happening. this is not a repeat and cannot be compared to the Japaneses nuclear reactor crisis. for two main reasons. which cascade into one another. in this case prior notice translates to protective berms and redundant on-site power as well as cooling water, not to mention ready operation precautions and procedures. if anything were to transpire, it would likely only cause a temporary disruption in functionality and lead to a gradual reduction of output, rendering the reactor cores and their containment unit in a state of hibernation. there would be no real meltdown or radioactive leakage out of the holding chamber.

I wouldn't trust those writers. Sorcha Faal is known for being a liar and conspiracy theories hocuspocus;

i see a lot of the outrageous claims such as obama imposing a "media blackout" and the russia nuclear agency has reports of a "level 4 catastrophe" are coming from conservative sites

Yeah, the level 4 thing is such bullshit. RT seems to be the original source on that, and they have such an anti-American stance it's insane. Watch their coverage on North Korea sometime.

And yeah, obviously it's nothing comparable Fukushima at all. At least so far.

Regardless, whether by compliance with government order or by poor reporting, the media has failed us. How was this not in the news starting June 7th? How is it still not a headline? And how can major news outlets not get their stories straight?
