Okay, so just out of curiosity, I check my school email. Not expecting anything, obviously, being that it's summer. I see a message from the Records department of school, saying that my graduation requirements had not been fulfilled. Obviously, bullshit. I had submitted my grad plans and they'd been approved, and I had gotten the OK to graduate and had done exactly fucking that. Went to the damn ceremony and everything. Yet I get this bullshit email from them.

I go and look at my DARS report, which is a document that lists all my credits and everything I have or have not completed for my degree. It says, for some completely unknown reason, that a course I'm taking next semester is something I need to do for a literature requirement. And then if I scroll down, there's a list of what's basically extra credits that didn't fit into anything in particular. There's lit courses there. A bunch of them.

This means that I DIDN'T GET MY FUCKING DIPLOMA BECAUSE THESE ASSHOLES LISTED MY CREDITS IN THE WRONG SECTION. THERE'S A BUNCH OF LIT COURSES THERE I DID AGES AGO. FUCKING SLIDE ONE OF THEM ONTO THE LIT REQUIREMENT SECTION INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM FLOAT THERE USELESSLY.

In addition, they say I never finished the "critical thinking" general ed requirement. A REQUIREMENT THAT IS FULFILLED AUTOMATICALLY ONCE YOU DO THE OTHER GENERAL ED REQUIREMENTS, WHICH I DID.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE AND WHY AM I THE ONE PAYING FOR IT

i sure hope so, because this could potentially cause problems with financial aid as well, because currently because of their fuck-up, i'm still an undergrad eligible for my old grants that i should now stop receiving, and the loan money will be the wrong amount as well

You're sure you have all of your advanced credits? I screwed that up, I took enough credits to graduate early but they weren't of a high enough level to count towards one of the requirements. Too many 200 levels, not enough 300 levels

yep, i did absolutely everything. double-checked, triple-checked, the works.

anyway, i just got off the phone with them. everything seems to be worked out. i can expect a diploma in the mail again.
