Hiro

What shows/movies do you have in your physical collection?
I have FLCL, and the first three Pokemon movies if that counts. I plan on getting some Miyazaki movies in the future, and maybe Cowboy Bebop or .//Hack (I don't know why, that series just interests me even though it's not that great).

I only own things I watched like a decade ago:
the first seven Pokemon movies (up to Deoxys)
Pokemon series: four VHS from early season 1
the Digimon Movie

I also own the first episode of .hack//Liminality because it was bundled with a PS2 game.

I tend to have very little spending money of my own and it's honestly a waste to spend it on anime that is easier to obtain through downloads. Because anime isn't very available at nearby physical stores, my heavily gift-oriented family can't buy it for me unlike video games and even manga. >_<'

no it isn't.

It is a very valid reason.

Anime is expensive, and with a limited income you're better off just downloading it for free.

there is a huge difference between downloading anime and actually having a physical copy of it

most people who buy physical media do it both so that they can watch/read it and that they actually "have" it

what you said is basically like saying "why would people buy tv shows on blu-ray when they can just download off the internet"

think about that for a second

i'm not saying that not having enough money isn't a perfectly good reason for not buying anime, because it completely is, it's just that downloading something and buying something are not one and the same

I didn't intend to imply that
Like he said, the limited income is the main factor. It's limited enough that I restrict things I buy myself to items with some degree of usefulness; all entertainment/videogame stuff I currently own is actually a gift. I'll probably buy some anime and maybe novelty-type anime stuff when I can buy that sort of thing for myself

For manga, I own:
all four officially translated Suzumiya Haruhi books
the first four Death Note
three Hikaru no Go
both .hack//AI Buster
both .hack//Link
all three .hack//Legend of the Twilight
all four .hack//Another Birth

Haruhi, AI Buster, and Another Birth are all light novels, but usually those are grouped with manga.

KonohaShinobi

I have no anime collection just because I do not want to switch discs every 5 episodes and deal with other bullshit like that when I can watch whatever on my HDD in amazing quality in whatever language I want. Blu Ray may change this since it holds alot more space and that quality is spectacular.

manga however I have a large amount of, I much prefer having that new manga smell and flipping pages.

how fucking lazy can you be

Samus Aran

for manga i have:

1 volume of Loveless
1 volume of Haruhi (not particularly good as a manga, honestly)
4 volumes of Chobits (in one book)
Every volume of Azumanga Daioh (in one book)
not simple (a one-shot)
