Did you apply for it yourself (without a co-applicant), and where did you get it?

I applied for 4 more cards from credit unions today but they will probably all deny me :(

YPrrrr

Do you have shitty credit or something? They usually practically beg people to sign for credit cards

LCK

I got a student credit card or something from Wells Fargo

i just signed up and they gave it to me

I have a student card myself with US Bank that I've had for about a year. I also have a regular card that is joint between my mom and myself with M&I.

A lot of the time a bank is more likely to approve you if you have checking and/or savings with them already. That might be the only reason why US Bank approved me.

Think of reasons why you might have a bad credit score. Your eviction wasn't an actual eviction, correct? Remember that utilities affect your score as well, so if you owe CenterPoint, Xcel, Comcast, AT&T, ect, that might be why.

Yeah, I shouldn't have anything on my credit score besides rent payments (if that's reported), the problem is usually that I don't have a credit score or I don't have an 'actual' job

Well I mostly only use my bank debit card.

But I DO have a credit card from Barclay that I used for one purpose only: buying my Macbook. I'm almost done paying it off, actually. I fully intend to cancel it afterward.

Why wouldn't you keep the card open and keep a low to no balance (use the credit card to buy stuff and just pay from your back account each month)?

Having an account open for a long time with a low balance improves your credit and would give you better rates should you ever need to mortgage a house or finance a car.

did you mention you are wziard, and that their alchemy is all fucked up?

I have a Discover card in my name. As with JMV, started out with $500 limit, but jumped to $750. I use it on random occasions and to pay for part of my tuition. I basically just use my debit card as credit though.

They've been good with me too. giggle;

They waived a late payment fee for me when my car broke down and I was stranded at the mall. I then realized I had a payment due that day and couldn't get online to have the payment post the same day. They took my payment over the phone and noted not to charge me.

I've never had an issue with the card not being accepted.
