it's stunning to see how much more compelling and profound an image of structures is over one of people. it's like they tell the stories of thousands of eyes that stare at you from every busted window and rusted ladder.

Oh poo, Boyah doesn't like HTML. Click the links anyways and view fullscreen. They are interactive panoramas.

I am starting to feel like it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in a DSLR and a tripod, assuming I make it though the summer without depleting my cash reserves first.

I got a Canon 1400 is for my birthday last year, and I have honestly been very happy with it. The size is quite optimal; I used to carry it in my pocket daily. It's also on the pretty high-end for point and shoots. The only thing is that I keep breaking it. It went through the ice with me into the Mississippi back in January and broke the lense and screen. Paid out the ass to get it fixed, only to drop it on concrete and into water a week after I got it back, breaking the screen again.  :(

I'm currently using a friend's camera that's only 10 mega pixels and I am not digging it at all...

I think what I need to do is fix my 1400, get a tripod for it, and then buy one of those underwater meh point and shoots that can take anything and use that dedicated for drains and such.

BUT I DON'T WANT TO SPEND MONEY.  >.<

sell your photos, commission tours, bling your blog, who knows, gotta be a way to make money to spend money.

applesauce

Sell my photos?  n_u Naw, they're quite commonplace.

Guided tours would be fun, but it's not exactly the kind of thing most people are into, nor is it something I could market online or anything.

on campus sometimes we have poster sales. i think some of your panoramic images touched up 2'x3' might be more interesting than you think. yeah, i was thinking you could lure people there and then murder them for money.

Hit up Phalen yesterday. Nearly finished it. It was a lot better when it wasn't raining. We did a first: exited through a manhole about 4 miles upstream of where we came in, and then walked back above ground. It was strange popping out of a manhole in some random park in some neighborhood I had never been to.

As always, more after the jump: http://www.urbex12.com/
