The Grado SR-60s look pretty nice but they talked a lot about sound leakage, which is a worry, since I want to be able to listen to music loudly in public.
I like the ones that Trevor posted though, I'm looking more into those.

I wanna get new headphones but at the same time I don't just have money to throw into headphones, there's more stuff I'd rather get and I don't even know the exact thing to get. For now I got the Apple headphones which are obviously crap.

My roommate has that 2nd pair, and I don't find them very comfortable. Besides, if you're going to go that cheap, go with the Koss PortaPro.

i think i'm going to. but seriously having a cord that long seems like such a hassle. can you provide any insight?

It might be kind of a pain, but I think some Sennheisers come with a little plastic wheel to wrap the cord around, making it more manageable.
