i used to be a huge pack rat. i used to keep all my receipts. i've receipts dating back to the year 2002. i threw them all away recently along with almost everything i own because my hoarding was majorly impeding my functionality. but i do keep every birthday card i get. i have one from my 6th birthday 

as for stuff i legitimately collect (and not out of compulsion) are coins. i have a decent coin collection. it would be better if i decided to actually spend money on it but i rarely have the disposable money for it. but i think i'll actually work on it this year and the coming years. i'll visit some antique shops and flea markets.
