Honestly, the street corner my house is basically on (one house away, whatever) is blocked off by a police barricade. I don't just mean wooden posts and a detour, I mean blocked off by actual police cars. Police are outside patrolling the area and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY.

A couple years ago I was visiting a friend at her apartment and we were talking at the table next to a window that happened to overlook the first floor courtyard, terrace/thing.

We both kind of looked out at the same time and there was a cop with a rifle positioned at the tree just outside and pointing towards a house just down the street.

Things escalated and the street was shut down and was crawling with swat agents with what looked like assault rifles.

Supposedly a guy was waving around a gun on his porch, threatening to shoot himself.

We couldn't leave, obviously,  so we ended up doing shots of gin and watching mulholland drive.
