Admittedly I should have in terms of getting another democrat into office, but I've listened to his speeches and he's kind of a sleezebag. When Obama was here he spent half his speech going on and on about what good friends he and the president were and how Obama supports him (his main point of evidence being one billboard in Milwaukee with a picture of them standing together), yet Obama seemed really distant from him the entire time and barely gave him any sort of endorsement whatsoever. Then in his campaign ads Feingold continually thumps his own chest and smears his opposition. It was a really ugly campaign

So yes, I'm an idiot with principles. Fuck.

In all seriousness, I don't get how prop 19, if passed, would not be overturned. If state law comes in conflict with federal law, doesn't federal law override the state law? I'm confused please help me  saddood;
yeah, so that's why pretty much the only people voting yes on 19 are the uneducated. i was all for it until someone actually explained it all to me.

Andria

I mean it is still ok to vote on it. It can send a message that marijuana legalization is wanted even if it may not do anything at the moment.

um that's not true at all. there are a lot of people voting for it.

Socks

it is more than a symbolic gesture. without directive to enforce national laws and no federal presence, the prevailing attitude in essence becomes the de facto rule of the land, technicalities be damned.

yes but reading comprehension would tell you that ultimately prop 19 won't do anything completely concrete. it's a step in the right direction, but it's not the godsent weed law that all the kids think it is. they're not home free just yet.

also, 21 for weed, but 18 for tobacco? that's retarded

Well, I was just referring to the current situation. Although it doesn't seem that marijuana legilisation on the federal level will happen any time soon.

Socks

i don't need no legislation to get my satisfaction. sovereignty within the principle above all.

Are you trying to say that all/most people think what you think?

I don't know why we even have laws against drugs and having restrictions greater than the legal adult age.
