Spoons are for liquid, which can just be drank
Forks are good, but you can't cut with them
If I had a knife with a pointy tip, I could use it as a one-pronged fork.

there are lots of other things that require spoons too, like cereal and pudding

and i find spoons cooler because forks can't be funhouse mirrors nearly as well
