Agreed, the only issue is navigating but that's not a safety concern

(I'm not posting because I jump at the chance to talk about drugs, I really think people need to be aware of this.)

Driving under the influence of any substance is fucking stupid, and there's no real convincing argument to say otherwise. I have no patience for friends who try to drive drunk or high and I certainly dont do it myself. For the most part, it's a non issue with people I know.

From my own personal standpoint, I certainly wouldn't trust myself driving high.

I simply have never experienced a negative consequence from my own or a friend's decision to drive high. There is the potential to make errors like turning onto the wrong side of streets and shit, but if you know how to drive, it's so intuitive that basically no amount of non-dissociative substance (weed, x, coke...) could cause me to drive unsafely, as long as you are aware you're driving and devoting attention to it. (You still know what's real and how traffic works when you're high.)

Accidents I've nearly gotten in while reading/writing a text while driving: 25-30+ (not hair's-breadth situations, just 'oh good thing I looked up when I did and not .25 seconds later')
Accidents I've nearly gotten playing with the radio console: 10-20
Accidents I've nearly gotten in while sleep deprived: like every winter morning nearly rear-ending someone in traffic from not noticing they stopped

Accidents I've nearly gotten in while high, or on anything for that matter: 0.

I'm not in any way assuring everyone they can drive high. If you feel don't feel confident in your driving, then don't.

I fucking drove 10 miles through urban minneapolis in the height of a MUSHROOM TRIP, freeways and everything. It was the most in-tune with the machine I've ever been, I drove without a single incident and people with me confirmed I wasn't just trippin

you can legally be tipsy and drive for fuck's sake. I'd rather drive after smoking a bong every hour for 24 hours than after a few shots.

That's beside the point though. Experiences differ and people have or have developed tolerances and ways to work around it. You're obviously one of the few then.

Fine. Wonderful.

I'd feel comfortable saying, and this is also from experience, that most people aren't like that. I've seen people wrap their cars around trees because they couldn't wait the few hours until they sobered up.

Certainly people are all different, but to counter you, the extensive circle of people I get high (and drive around) with contains only a couple people who don't like to drive high, and it's just because they're shitty drivers normally. Sure there can be harmless inconsequential mistakes like waiting at a stop sign with no one around, but I've never felt someone was 'too high too drive' from weed. I think a majority of people could handle themselves. Think of all the other, more complex things you can do/like to do while high. Driving a car is like using a pencil.

I'm pretty much on the same record as Snorkel. If anything I'm much much more careful when I high drive. The music is down, everyone in the car is quiet, I keep no more than 5 miles above the speed limit. I've driven maybe 50-60 times while blazin' and I haven't come close to an accident.

When I sober drive, I'd say I come close to rear-ending/ killing myself at least once a week.
