Good point myface;

We need to get an American to throw one on the pitch, that way it'll force Fifa to reconsider.  akudood;

Real Afrikaneers appreciate the sound of angry bees. And we all have a little Afrikaneer inside of us, somewhere, we just have to find him baddood;

This sums up how I feel about the vuvuzelas
http://wesleyanargus.com/2010/06/13/the-worlds-sport-in-defense-of-vuvuzelas/
As a guy living in a western country, I've learned to treat cries of "westernization" as backwards and anti-progressive. But, you have to admit, he has a point. Soccer is soccer, let them enjoy the game the way they want to enjoy it. Complaining about it is like complaining about the music being played in your friend's car. It's his car, damnit, and he'll play whatever he likes.

?????

I just realized it's winter in South Africa :O
Die for Dethklok

Maybe if it wasn't just constant noise... like if it were somehow coordinated, then it wouldn't be as obnoxious. Instead it's just a random chaotic sound that drowns out the cheers from other teams. Goddamn it I love hearing the chants for different teams but so far I've only been able to pick out a few from the English, in all likelyhood because I already knew the tunes. If they want to blow for Bufana Bufana, fine, but why are you drowning out the support for the US and England or Germany and Australia. The writer of that article compared the vuvuzelas to air horns and chants. Well this would be a fair comparison if there was a never ending supply of air horns or chants were repeated incessantly without repreive... but they're not so they're far less grating.
