Actually, I'm guessing they'll still work for the other games, the harmonies and keyboard parts just won't be accessible.

Nope. They said all RB3 DLC will only work for RB3

god damn it fine i'll use grammar. Okay so when Beatles Rock Band came out, the verdict was there would be no ability to export the songs because there was too much new fangled stuff in the game as well as it being the fucking Beatles, so you couldn't play the songs in Rock Band 2, only in Beatles Rock Band. But now, you can export and play the songs and Rock Band 3 which brings me satisfaction in large amounts.

okay i didn't read the whole discussion but i understand that rb3 dlc is rb3 only

however what about dlc for rb1 and 2, will those work on rb3? also what about those on-disc songs?

All DLC and exports will work in Rock Band 3. The Beatles has no and will never have an export feature for reasons that have nothing to do with technological capabilities. RB3 DLC will only work with RB3.
