Er, the only time I'll do that is if I've spilled a very small amount of water on the floor, then I'll just run the sock I'm wearing over it. But I wouldn't just use a sock to wipe something up

I've done that before. It's terrible to have to sacrifice a sock like that, but it's better than a shirt, because socks are usually much more plentiful in my drawers.
