Since the start of summer, I have been getting this feeling of isolation and loneliness. It's not depression really, it's a different kind of feeling.

Generally I am at home alone all day, unless I go out with my friends some days. But the days when I'm home, I am extremely bored, can't find anything to do at all, and if I do, the joy lasts about 5 minutes. I don't feel like watching tv/movies, reading, playing video games. I usually just sit on the computer all day.

And It's really lonely...I used to be able to enjoy my own company, and was happy being by myself. But ever since I went to college, I hate being alone. I can't stand it. I need someone else's company.

Anyone else like this?

Yeah. Some of my best and worst moments have come to pass as a result of this predicament.

I feel you Selkie. I have plenty of friends, and I'm not unpopular by any means, but I do find myself at home a lot, and when I am at home, nothing ever satisfies me and I usually end up calling friends up and doing something instead.

I experienced that last summer, except it grew into crushing black depression (partly as a result of anti-malarial medication and partly because of a failed relationship)

This summer is much better but still fairly boring (everything is always boring), fortunately I have a lot more things to do though. try starting an internet business it occupies some time  gimpdood;
