I had this nifty program that I put in the url of youtube videos and it would download and save the audio to my computer. For some odd reason it does not like any of the urls I put in and says there is no file. So anyone have a program that is free and will give me audio from youtube videos?

MediaCoder, but you can't grab the URL directly, you'd have to download the flv and then you can transcode it.

?????

Since you're using FireFox you can install an add-on called Video DownloadHelper. This will download the video to your computer as an flv file, though I think you can save the video as mp4 files in newer versions. If you save an flv file you will need a program like VLC or FLV Player to play it.

Once you have the video downloaded you can convert it to an mp3 file. Just use a converter on your file, like SUPER. Convert it to an MP3 an viola!

You can also tag your music if you download a program called mp3tag.

Have fun :D

Yeah I have download helper and VLC, but what you said still sounds like a lot of work. I want something that does everything for me.

If I ever have time I think I'll write a program to do it. But let's see what google gives...

http://www.dirpy.com/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11047

One of those is bound to work
