When I was nine my parents stopped giving me gifts for christmas and just gave me $250 every year. They also forced me to put it in the bank every year until I was fourteen, and by that time they were giving me $100. Seeing as my father did not have a job 6 out of the 12 months this year, I'll be lucky to get $50.

But it's ok, because me and my brother normally buy each other pretty neat gifts.

Yeah, Christmas has lost its magic. Pretty sure it's due to the fact that there's no surprise anymore, as I usually only ask for one or two things, like a game, and usually get them.

And while I'm talking about holidays that have lost their spark: Thanksgiving. I always loved going to my grandma's to see my cousins that I barely get to see, and we'd play hide and go seek in the basement, or play a board game, or go run around outside. But for the past two years, all they (the three cousins I like to hang out with) wanted to do was watch a movie. Not even a board game, or cards, which take no effort, really. No good movies either, just whatever my grandma has, which is Disney movies. Not that they're bad, but I've already watched them years ago. Also, last year, me and a few others were just standing outside under the tree we used to climb, and they youngest cousin (age 5 or something) said, "you guys are lame." It's amazing how truthful a statement from a five year old can be. We are lame, now.
