Is frequent marijuana smoking a bad habit?

I smoke weed now like 5 days out of the week. I think it's not very harmful and I think it's just something to relieve boredom cause I can't think of any other excuse for using it. But about 90% of my friends use it and a lot of them are very intelligent people and it doesn't effect them in any negative way really. So I don't see what's wrong with it. I sure as hell don't care what it does to me though. I'll deal with the consequences later in life if there are any.

I smoke marijuana about one a week, maybe once every two weeks. I'm using it a lot more frequently to ease the stress from all the work and mishaps that have been happening in my house. I don't think it's a bad habit other than the expenses. It's not addictive and as far as I know it isn't a gateway drug. I hate the fact that people say cigarettes are better than smoking marijuana and the fact that people say marijuana kills. It's not a bad habit, I've been smoking for about three-four years and I believe it was for the better. I'm doing a lot better in school and it's a great easy way to relax and have a good time with friends.

I've established for myself a set of moral standards that forbid all recreational drugs. I have self-control.

However, due to the harmless nature of marijuana, I do not oppose the drug nor think lesser of anyone that results to it. But I, personally, wouldn't try it.

He's not referring to a universal moral standard, he's referring to a personal standard set for himself. In this way, it is completely possible for moral standards to exist. I do understand what you are getting at though, there is no concrete moral view that is meant for everyone to live by.

As for smoking... I haven't smoked in over a week. I'm probably going to quit for a while, I don't really feel like smoking and I certainly don't feel like finding myself a dealer in this area. But whenever I had the weed I just leave my pipe on my desk and take a few puffs every now and then. It's only a bad habit if it keeps you from getting shit done.
